Nick Morris bemoans "frustrating" night for the Swindon Robins
Total Sport's Ryan Walker got the thoughts of Swindon Robins rider Nick Morris, following Thursday's defeat at home to Kings Lynn.
On a night when Swindon looked the favourites, the King’s Lynn Stars shone through to steal a well-earned victory and fan favourite Morris insisted it was a disappointing night for the Wiltshire side.
“It’s disappointing really," began Morris.
“Everyone tried as hard as they could, which we always do, but we just weren’t good enough.
“Credit to Kings Lynn but we need to now get all the boys going.
Whilst most of the squad struggled for points Morris rode extremely well to score 10+2, but explained how mechanical problems hampered his evening.
“On my own performance I came better at the end but I just didn’t have the speed tonight.
“My engines are making some weird noises that I’m not too happy about and the speed wasn’t there.
“I guess scoring 12 on the night and not being happy does show how far I’ve come on this year.
“I just know there is something seriously wrong with my engine because it was clunking like crazy every time I came into the pits which isn’t good.”
Defeat on Thursday saw Swindon continue their season with no home win to date and Morris admits that this just isn’t good enough from a side hoping to push for the playoffs.
“It’s disappointing for sure to have no home league win so far.
“We want to win as much as we can and its just not happening at the moment.
“The team is just not clicking and not doing what we need to be doing to win," he added.
"We have Belle Vue and Wolverhampton coming up and they are two really tough teams and we have to step it up against them."
