ON-THE-BUZZER REPORT: Peterborough Phantoms 6-1 Swindon Wildcats

The Swindon Wildcats fell to their second defeat in the opening weekend of the season as they were thrashed 6-1 by the Peterborough Phantoms.

For the second match in a row, the WIldcats got off to the worst possible start as they conceded after just 53 seconds to Peterborough's Petr Sepanek. Swindon were 1-0 down 16 seconds in against the Guildford Flames on Saturday.

Just like on Saturday, too, they pulled level through Tom Rutkis after an assist by temporary addition Ben Davies at 4:16.

That was all the fight Swindon showed, however as the Phantoms pulled away in sensational style.

Darius Pliskauskas restored Peterborough's lead at 10:39 and it was soon 3-1 to the home side when James Ferrara scored past Stevie Lyle.

The torment continued for the Wildcats as Tom Norton made it a three-goal margin at 12:37.

James Archer was the fifth scorer for Peterborough with his strike at 20:26 and Martins Susters completed the scoring at 49:37.
