ON-THE-WHISTLE MATCH REPORT: Swindon Town 0-3 Cheltenham Town

A second-half brace from Mo Eisa and a goal from Jake Andrews before half-time, condemned Matt Taylor to defeat in his game as Swindon Town's interim manager.

Andrews excellently curled in a free-kick in the 41st minute, after defender Chris Robertson commited a foul, to put the away side 1-0 up at the County Ground.

Interim manager Matt Taylor was not able to turn things around at half-time though and Swindon were 2-0 down in the 50th minute due to a horrific defensive error.

The ball was pumped long into Swindon's box, and Ben Purkiss, when under the cosh from Cheltenham's Eisa, tried to head the ball back to debutant keeper Stuart Moore.

Eisa raced onto it, however, and had the simple task of slotting the ball into tne back of the net to double Cheltenham's lead.

Cheltenham's Eisa made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute with his second to cap off an awful afternoon for the hosts.

Swindon started the game on the front foot, and looked bright early on, without having to manage an official shot on the goal, until the 10th minute.

A corner by the player-manager found its way to the feet of Luke Norris, who had two bites at the cherry. First, he had a shot blocked, and from the rebound, he volleyed over the bar.

Town were fortunate not to concede a penalty five minutes later when Cheltenham's Taylor Moore was brought down in the box by Taylor, but the referee Tom Nield waved play on.

Swindon were unable to properly test Scott Flinders in the Cheltenham goal until first-half stoppage time, when Timi Elsnik had a shot deflected goalwards following a corner, and Flinders adjusted himself well to get a fingertip on it and deny the Slovenian.

Taylor's men did not improve when the second goal went in, and almost found themselves 3-0 down when Eisa broke free in the box again and tried to curl the ball into the far corner, but Moore got down low to his left well to keep it a two-gaol margin.

Mard Richards, who won the League Two Player of the Month award for February, had Swindon's next effort on 65 minutes, but when under pressure and off balance, he shot straight at Flinders from about 12 yards and it was saved with ease.

It got worse for Swindon in the 72nd minute when Oluwasanmi Odelusi broke down the right-hand side, drifted past Rollin Menayese like he wasn't even there and squared for Eisa who netted his second and Cheltenham's third.

Swindon's next apparent chance was Taylor volleying over the bar from a tight angle, which led to chants of 'you're getting sacked in the morning' from the away end, directed at the man who had the effort.

The day from a Swindon perspective was best summed up by James Dunne's shot in the 88th minute which flew over the bar and high into Stratton Bank from 20 yards.
