ON-THE-WHISTLE MATCH REPORT: Swindon Town 0-5 Luton Town

Two goals in 10 second-half minutes by ex-Swindon striker James Collins and Danny Hylton, an own goal by Matty Taylor, one from Harry Cornick and a fifth by Elliot Lee means Swindon have now lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions.

Before today, Swindon had the 22nd-worst home form in League Two, with just three league wins to their name in Wiltshire this season, and Boxing Day was no improvement against top-of-the-table Luton.

On his return to the County Ground, Collins opened the scoring in some style, as he let fly from the edge of his box and his shot sailed into the top left-hand corner three minutes into the second half.

It left goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux grasping nothing but thin air.

The Chilean had no better fortune on the 55-minute mark, as Danny Hylton made it 2-0 when he stooped to head in a low left-sided cross by Dan Potts.

It got even worse for Swindon when Taylor scored an own goal in the 66th minute.

Amine Linganzi broke in midfield and tried to dribble past Glen Rea, who robbed him and played a through ball to Collins.

Collins then squared the ball and Taylor slid in, but only managed to divert the ball into his own goal.

It only got worse for Swindon as, with 17 minutes left, substitute Harry Cornick scored from the edge of the box to make it 4-0 to Luton.

Another sub, Elliot Lee made it 5-0 five minutes before the end which led to chants of "easy, easy, easy" from the away fans and the home fans making their way home.

Hard to believe, but Swindon were level at half-time and started the brighter.

The first 10 minutes were the most lively and Swindon had the first shot on goal with four minutes played.

Linganzi won the ball in midfield and picked out Keshi Anderson, who had license to roam about 30 yards from goal.

Instead, the Crystal Palace loanee pinged it out right to Paul Mullin who steadied himself but could only shoot side-footed straight at Marek Stech from a tight angle.

Mullin had another go soon after, but this time his long-range curler was tipped over the bar by Stech and Olly Lancashire headed the resulting corner wide.

Luton's first shot should have resulted in the opening goal, as defender Dan Potts toed a delightfully-delivered free-kick by Alan Sheehan over the bar from point-blank range.

Collins, on his return to Swindon, then tried his luck from much further out, as he spotted Vigouroux off his line and, from 40 yards, Collins tried to chip him, but Vigouroux tipped it over in a panic when it looked to be going wide.

Swindon's best chance of the match came after 25 minutes, but a lack of composure led to the score staying 0-0 for the time being.

James Dunne cleared a corner with his lead, which Kaiyne Woolery latched onto before bombing down the right wing and, when two-on-one, opted to square for Keshi Anderson, but the cross was too heavy and it went out for a throw.

Matty Taylor and Glen Rea both drilled wide for the respective sides as well.

The second half is where it all went wrong for Swindon though, and their next fixture is no easier, as second-placed Notts County come to the County Ground.
