Phil Brown left to rue lack of "clinical edge" in his first home game as Swindon Town manager
After being restricted to a home draw against Morecambe, Swindon Town manager Phil Brown put the two dropped points down to a lack of clinical edge infront of goal.
Swindon were held to a 1-1 draw by Morecambe in Phil Brown's first home game in charge as manager.
Luke Norris netted a second-half penalty to level the scores and Town improved when they had momentum, but could not find the crucial winner to keep in touch of the top seven.
"At any level, it's a common denominator that when you make a mistake, you get punished," Brown said at full-time.
"Consequently, it leaves a one-on-one with my goalkeeper and they put it away. It was certainly against the run of play, if you ask me."
Swindon introduced Kaiyne Woolery, Paul Mullin and Donal McDermott as second-half subs, but despire the attacking intent, Brown was left to rue a lack of potency when in on goal.
"Then in the second half, did we deserve to get something out of the game? Absolutely, and we did, but didn't quite get the three points.
"As you can tell from the substitutions, we were throwing the kitchen sink at them to get that win but we didn't. We just lacked that little bit of clinical side to the game."
Town now have two days to prepare for Easter Monday's trip to Crawley with the playing staff looking to avenge a 3-0 home defeat that was inflicted by the Red Devils at the County Ground.
