PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town 0-3 Crawley Town
Swindon Town went down 3-0 to previously bottom-of-the-table Crawley Town on Saturday and Total Sport's Benjamin Wills has reviewed the 14 men that represented the Robins.
Lawrence Vigouroux: Swindon Town's goalkeeper conceded three and won the man-of-the-match award, which should tell you all you need to know about the match. In fairness to Vigouroux, none of the goals were his fault and he also made a few world-class saves - 6
Ben Purkiss: Town's right-back is not the quickest and the ex-Port Vale man struggled to cope with actual man-of-the-match Jordan Roberts - 4
Dion Conroy: Conroy started off brightly but decreased in level as the game went off. The Chelsea trainee was carded and had trouble against a Crawley side that came into their own in the second half - 5
Olly Lancashire: The Swindon skipper will have better afternoons while at Town. His own goal gave Crawley the lead, he went into the referee's book and was part of a Town defence that shipped three to a side that were at the foot end of the Football League - 4
Chris Hussey: Swindon's plan A, B, and C was Chris Hussey set pieces. Most of which, especially in the first half, were bang on but not converted. Not a great defensive display, however - 5
Donal McDermott: McDermott was one of Swindon's better players in the opening 45, with jinking runs and decent efforts on goal, but fell away in the second and lost possession regularly with leggy passes - 5
James Dunne (replaced by Harry Smith '78): Vice-captain Dunne tried to rally uninspired troops in the second half, to no avail. Was unable to control the midfield, which was Town's main downfall - 4
Amine Linganzi (replaced by Matt Taylor '53): The summer signing from Portsmouth was run-of-the-mill in the Swindon midfield. Not a lot wrong, but found himself replaced by Taylor early in the second half - 5
Paul Mullin: Striker Mullin, deployed on the left wing, tried to no avail to get Swindon on the scoresheet with active runs - 5
Luke Norris: Norris was by no means bad on Saturday, but there is no getting away from the fact at, at 0-0, he had two golden opportunities within the space of a minute to give Swindon the lead. It proved costly - 5
Kaiyne Woolery (replaced by James Brophy '53): Struggled to really impose himself on the match, with the exception of a decent effort from range in the first half - 5
Substitutes:
Matty Taylor (on for Linganzi '53): Debutant Taylor could not impose himself on the game at the County Ground, but should improve once he has been at the club longer than a week - 4
James Brophy (on for Woolery '53): Winger Brophy had difficulty making a dent in the Crawley defence and never really looked in the match despite being on for almost a half - 4
Harry Smith (on for Dunne '78): Millwall loanee Smith only got 12 minutes but came closest for Town in the second half when his shot was parried, which speaks volumes - 5
