We recommend
Lawrence Vigouroux: Did not have much to do, but every save he made was an extremely crucial one, especially the two in each half's stoppage time. Town can be thankful for him for the points - 7
Brad Barry: Not the best of first halves but took his goal with aplomb - 6
Nathan Thompson: Captain led by example as he so often does. He was assured in defence and hardly put a foot wrong - 7
Jamie Sendles-White: Saturday afternoon was not Jamie Sendles-White's best showing as he was often turned by his marker and occasionally dodgy on the ball - 5
Lloyd Jones: The Liverpool loanee, who returned to the first-team fold at Swindon following an injury, was vital in defence, especially in the latter end of the first half as he made two crucial last-ditch blocks - 8
James Brophy: Was bright going forward in the first half but was lucky nothing came about from Vale attacks down their right-hand side. Replaced by Furlong in the second 45 - 6
Anton Rodgers: The son of Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was his usual self, nothing overly impressive, but was not culpable for much wrong in midfield either - was later subbed for Conor Thomas - 5
Yaser Kasim: A very standard outing by Yaser Kasim, but in a very good way. We are so used to the Iraqi international bossing the midfield now it is just so common place - 7
Michael Doughty: Quite easily Swindon's shining light going forward, especially in the second half, his assist was a work of art and on another day he would have had more - 8
Luke Norris: If Norris had just a little bit more speed he would have been behind the Port Vale back four time, and time, and time again, but often just lacked that little of pace to get him away from the opposition defence - 5
Nathan Delfouneso: Looked to get on the ball at every opportunity but was often in the wrong areas such as the right wing or the edge of the box. Jordan Stewart replaced him with 15 minutes remaining - 6
Substitutes:
Conor Thomas (on for Rodgers '65): Accomplished showing off-the-bench. Kept the Robins organised when they needed to see the game out - 6
Darnell Furlong (on for Brophy '70): OK performance from the man on-loan from QPR - never really introduced himself to the contest but did nothing wrong either - 5
Jordan Stewart (on for Delfouneso '75): Impressive after coming on, could have scored within seconds of his introduction - 6
Man of the Match: Lloyd Jones
