PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town (3) v (1) Morecambe FC
SWINDON TOWN returned to winning ways as they ran out 3-1 victors against Morecambe. An impressive first-half was followed by a dull second, but Town were deserving of all three points. Total Sport Swindon's Rajan Hothi gives his player ratings.
GK: Luke McCormick (7)
Made a vital save just after Morecambe equalised to keep it level. Wasn't called into action a lot, but did what was required. Lee Power says Town are after another 'keeper before the transfer window closes to challenge McCormick
RB: Rob Hunt (7)
Hunt's performance showcased that he is more than capable of playing on either side of the defence. A couple of misplaced passes, but Hunt did his job well.
CB: Mathieu Baudry (6.5)
A few poor passes let the Frenchman down this afternoon, but defensively the 31-year-old proved himself to be more than adequate. Town are on the hunt for another centre-back and if they managed to sign one, Baudry's position may come under threat.
CB: Dion Conroy (7)
Swindon's captain looked assured at the back and did well to deal with some tricky balls into the box. The defence as a whole had some shaky moments but were only punished once by Morecambe.
LB: Ellis Iandolo (6.5)
Showed why Wellens was so complimentary of him in pre-season as Iandolo looked a constant threat down the left-hand side in the first-half though a shaky second-half saw some Town fans less than impressed with the left-back not crossing on a few occasions as well as a few poor passes.
CM: Danny Rose (6)
Gave the ball away which led to Morecambe's equaliser. Did an adequate job in the place of Michael Doughty, but understandably looked a little rusty in his first start since coming back from injury.
CM: Jordan Lyden (7)
Another composed performance from the 23-year-old as the midfielder was seemingly at the heart of everything. Looks to be a great bit of business by Wellens and co with the Australian impressing a lot since his move earlier in the window.
RM: Lloyd Isgrove (8)
Once again Isgrove looked a threat down the right-hand side, causing havoc amongst the visitors back-line, and his fantastic cross was met by Doyle to score Swindon's third with the pair looking to have a good partnership blossoming.
LM: Keshi Anderson (8)
Despite initial concerns at playing Anderson out wide, he had a brilliant afternoon terrorising Morecambe's defence time and time again. Saw his deflected shot fall into the path of Doyle who made no mistake from close-range for the opener. The 24-year-old's expertly timed pass sent Yates through on goal for Swindon's second. Received a standing ovation as he made way for Adam May with five minutes left.
ST: Eoin Doyle (9)
The Bradford City loanee carried on his fantastic start to life with Swindon as he bagged another brace. Did well to react quickly to Keshi Anderson's deflected strike to put Swindon ahead after just four minutes. Played a big role in the move for the second goal, and netted his brace with a close-range header which put the hosts 3-1 up. Didn't have the same service in the second-half, but another impressive display from the 31-year-old
ST: Jerry Yates (8)
A clinical finish saw the Rotherham United loanee put Town back into the lead just after 17 minutes on his return to action. Looks threatening partnering Doyle up top. Was replaced by Kaiyne Woolery just after the hour-mark. It's nice for Wellens to have two strikers who know where the net is.
Subs:
Kaiyne Woolery (6)
Was found out wide a few times, but his crosses weren't met by anyone in the box. A good option to have from the bench with his blistering pace.
Adam May (N/A)
Didn't have enough time to significantly impact the game.
Tyler Reid (N/A)
Like May, didn't have enough time to affect the game after replacing Iandolo.
