PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town (3) v (1) Notts County

SWINDON TOWN had to come from behind as they ran out 3-1 winners at the County Ground in the final game of the season to relegate Notts County. Total Sport Swindon's Ryan Walker gives his Robins player ratings following the action.

GK: Luke McCormick (7)

Had very little to do throughout the 90 minutes but commanded his defenders well and assisted Robinson for his first goal with a long kick upfield.

RB: Kyle Knoyle (7)

Produced the usual no thrills performance that fans have come to expect of him this season. Got forward well and was strong when defending in one-on-one situations. Swindon will miss him next season if he doesn’t sign a new contract.

CB: Dion Conroy © (7)

Played well throughout and was calm and composed when on the ball. Protected McCormick well throughout and did well to snuff out the danger when Notts County went direct with their football.

CB: Tom Broadbent (4)

Back in the side and looked incredibly rusty. Too often conceded possession putting simple passed wayward and gave away the penalty that led to the opening goal. Must improve if he is to be a key part of Swindon Town next season.

LB: Ali Koiki (7)

Endured a solid performance at left-back and excelled in getting down the wing an whipping in dangerous crosses.  Linked up well with Bennett and Woolery to help get Swindon in behind when on the attack. Will return to Burnley now his loan move has ended.

CM: Canice Carroll (6.5)

Looked lost at times in the first half but improved in the second 45 minutes to help Swindon to victory. Worked tirelessly as always but lacked quality in his decision making at times. Has admitted his hopes of returning to Brentford now his loan move has ended.

RM: Michael Doughty (6.5)

Having been awarded the player of the year award before the match, Michael Doughty was mediocre against Notts County. Assisted Woolery for Swindon’s opening goal but at times tried to do too much when a simple pass would’ve sufficed. Is close to signing a new contract at STFC and will be crucial to Swindon’s success next season.

LM: Kyle Bennett (6.5)

A mixed performance saw Bennett enjoy lots of the ball but struggle at times when in possession. Produce some neat football to dribble through defenders and help get Swindon into dangerous positions but was poor with some of his set-piece deliveries.

Produced a laughable moment kicking the ball directly out of play after getting confused with a rehearsed set-piece move.

LW: Keshi Anderson (6)

Was the worst of Swindon’s attackers and didn’t offer much in the game. Didn’t get on the ball as much as he would’ve hoped and failed to threaten the Notts County defence.

RW: Kaiyne Woolery (8)

Scored a brilliant second-half goal using his pace to dribble past Nott’s County’s Sam Stubbs before firing a shot past the County keeper. Linked up well with Robinson throughout and it speaks volumes about his performance that he was awarded man of the match ahead of double goalscorer Robinson.

ST: Theo Robinson (8)

Scored two goals to take his goal tally to seven and enjoyed himself playing against a lacklustre and unorganised Notts County defence. Rifled his first goal into the roof of the net before scoring an easy-headed goal late into stoppage time.

Robinson has added firepower to Swindon’s attack since his arrival at SN1 and it will be interesting to see if he is at the club next season.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Matty  Taylor (N/A)

Came on to make the final appearance of his professional career after more than 20 years and 650 appearances. Didn’t have much to do with Swindon firmly in control but what a fantastic servant he has been to the sport.

Cameron McGilp (6)

Came on to make his debut for the club with 20 minutes left and added energy to Swindon’s midfield despite not getting much of the ball.
