PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town 4-0 Morecambe

SWINDON TOWN got back to winning ways with a fantastic performance over Morecambe as four different goalscorers ensured Town took all three points away from the County Ground in impressive fashion. Total Sport Swindon's Ryan Walker gives his Robins player ratings following the match.

GK: Luke McCormick (8)

Making his first start since Swindon’s FA Cup exit to Woking in December of last year, made three fantastic saves in the first-half to keep Swindon’s lead intact and can be delighted with his performance and the clean sheet.

RB: Kyle Knoyle (8)

Linked up well with Woolery on the right-hand side and overlapped well on the wink to produce dangerous crosses into the Morecambe penalty box. Consistently got the better of full-back Luke Conlan when attacking and had little defensive work to do.

CB: Dion Conroy (10)

It’s rare to give a player top marks, but Dion Conroy deserves nothing less as he produced the perfect performance. Played countless perfectly weighted long balls to put Swindon in threatening positions and was excellent in producing a strikers finish to score his first goal of the club.

CB: Luke Woolfenden (7.5)

Defended well against Collins and protected McCormick well to earn Swindon a well-deserved clean sheet. Won the majority of his aerial battles well and was a threat from set-pieces.

LB: Ali Koiki (7)

Ran tirelessly down the left-wing and provided width for Swindon when on the attack. Consistently beat his man to play countless crosses into the Morecambe box.

RM: Danny Rose (7)

Nearly gifted Morecambe an equaliser when dispossessed by Collins after taking too long on the ball in the 18th minute, but apart from that scare, he enjoyed a solid performance. Broke play up well when in defence and was calm on the ball to link up with his fellow teammates when on the attack.

CM: Canice Carroll (7)

Recovered the ball for Swindon when Morecambe were attacking but was rash with some challenges and teetered on the edge of picking up a yellow card. Contributed to Swindon’s attacks well and his skill to get into the box in the 55th minute was excellent.

LM: Kyle Bennett (8.5)

Playing in the pocket just behind Robinson, Kyle Bennett was crucial in helping guide Swindon to victory today. Fantastic dribbling skills enabled the midfielder to work his way into key attacking areas well, and his final ball was often perfectly placed to create goal scoring opportunities. Seemed as surprised as everyone else when his weak shot went past Halstead to make it four-nil.

RW: Kaiyne Woolery (7.5)

Scored Swindon’s second on the stroke of half-time with a well-taken low shot that was driven straight past Halstead. Utilised his pace well to skip past the Morecambe full-back on multiple occasions but often tried to do too much with the ball when a simple pass was all that was needed.

ST: Theo Robinson (8)

Scored the opening goal with a hard-fought header and was a constant handful for Morecambe’s centre-back partnership of Old and Lavelle to deal with. Never stopped running lines in behind the defence and interchanged places with Woolery well at times to help get Town into threatening positions. Held the ball up well when needed and will be happy to have scored his third goal for the club.

LW: Keshi Anderson (7)

Looked to have scored in the 13th minute only for Halstead to somehow keep Anderson’s effort out of the net. Came deep to pick the ball up on occasions and linked up well with Woolery and Robinson in attack.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Matty Taylor (7)

Making his first appearance since announcing his retirement from professional football at the end of the season, Matty Taylor had little time to make a lasting contribution but played some well-worked long balls to set Swindon's attackers off in behind as the game neared its end.

Marc Richards (N/A)

Introduced with just ten minutes left and won a header in the opposition box from a set-piece but didn't get much of the ball.

James Dunne (N/A)

Came on in the closing moments and had little to do.
