We recommend
That concludes today's press conference.
Sheridan on Charlton:
They are a strong side with the players they have in their squad and it will be a tough game. It's a big stadium with a big pitch but we have to go there believing in ourself. I think our biggest downfall has been the manner of the goals we concede and we just have to cut out silly situations.
Sheridan on Twine:
Scott has just come back and I'm not worries about his contract. He has a lot to learn and now needs to concentrate on his performances and playing well for Swindon. The speculation is speculation and that's all it is.
Sheridan on departures:
It is a possibility some of our players may leave the club. If I can't guarantee players game time then I understand players want to be out getting regular football. We have had interest about players from one or two clubs but I don't think the players were interested. We can't force players out.
Sheridan on transfers:
There are players available but we have to get the right type of player to make us better. We need a big squad due to the injuries we have had this season and I need us strong for the games we have coming up. People will be disappointed to not make the squad but my only thought is to get us winning games.
Sheridan on striker signing:
We won't have a striker in before the weekend. We were due to have a new striker sign for us last night but that has been delayed due to an injury at his parent club. We are still hopeful of the deal happening but we have to respect the decision of the parent club.
Sheridan on loan players:
We have six loan players and you can only include five on a matchday so it does give me a headache. We may have to clear one out.
Sheridan on Masterson:
We have a lot of defensive injuries and he strengthens that centre-back position. He has done well in the Championship and is a confident player who will compete and make us stronger. Our biggest problem has been the goals we concede and he will hopefully help us stop that.
Sheridan on injuries:
Everyone is fit and available apart from Zeki Fryers who will be out for a while and the long-term injuries like Grounds, Broadbent, and Baudry. We had 25 players training this morning.
John Sheridan has now joined us.
Conor Masterson has now left us, John Sheridan will join us soon.
Masterson on reasons for joining Swindon:
I had a few options but I wanted to come here after speaking to the gaffer because he sold the club to me. It seems like a good bunch of players and I want to show what I can do here at Swindon.
Masterson on 20/21 season:
It's difficult because of COVID, you can't socialise with anyone and we miss the fans because they make the game what it is. Hopefully we can get them back as soon as possible. Having fans adds that extra 10% motivation, you miss that and it does make a difference.
Masterson on Charlton:
I know a few players there like Paul Smith and Lee Miller. I know what Charlton are like, they are a solid team but we go there knowing we can do a job.
Masterson on style of play:
I'm a ball playing centre-back but I want to be a dominant centre-back as well. I like to play through the lines and want to play good football.
Masterson on first impressions:
It seems a really good club, a big club and I am raring to go.
I've spoken to the lads, I know Mark Travers well and he told me it was a good opportunity to come to a team that plays good football.
Conor Masterson will join us first instead.
If you are just joining us, we are waiting for the zoom meeting to start.
