PRESS CONFERENCE LIVE: Lincoln City v Swindon Town

Good afternoon and welcome to our press conference live blog as we bring you all the updates from John Sheridan's Swindon Town press conference as his side prepare to travel to League One leaders Lincoln City tomorrow evening. Join Total Sport Swindon's Ryan Walker from 12.30pm as we speak to the Swindon manager and goalkeeper Joe Wollacott.

1:17PM

Thanks for joining us.

1:17PM

That concludes today's press conference.

1:16PM

Sheridan on his Swindon future:

"I'm not looking past this season and that's the honest answer.

I just want to keep the team in this division and whether I'm here or not Swindon want to be in League One.

It's better for the club and the supporters and that's all I'm focused on.

I'm confident we will do that and hopefully we achieve that."

1:15PM

Sheridan on Anthony Grant situation:

"If there was a problem between Anthony Grant and myself then I wouldn't tell you.

There should be a problem between me and every player who isn't playing because they should be so annoyed that they aren't in the team that they don't like the manager.

Any player who isn't in the team shouldn't be happy."

1:07PM

Sheridan on team changes:

"Loads of managers change their team and I took a gamble against Crewe but whoever I bring into the side has got to be ready.

Sometimes you throw people in but I expect players to perform and help us win games."

1:06PM

Sheridan on Twine 2/2:

"I can't say much on him. He needs to get back into the team first and he is still learning the game.

He wants to do well and hopefully he can try and keep us in the league.

I won't give the opposition any insight into if he will feature tomorrow.

I'm not frightened to change the team."

1:04PM

Sheridan on Lincoln:

"They're a good team, very consistent and have got a good manager.

They have this confidence thinking they can win every game and they are at the top of the table on merit.

They've got pace in wide areas and got a very good work ethic about them.

We have to be up for the fight. If you're looking at the league table you would say it's a home win but we go there fighting for our lives and if we keep going then we can win more games."

1:02PM

Sheridan on Twine:

"He needs to concentrate on getting back into the team first [before we talk about contracts.]

He came on and made an impact against Crewe and hopefully can continue to do so."

1:00PM

Sheridan on 5-3-2 formation:

"I think it's a system that makes us more solid and it's something that we went with.

We defended when we needed to against Crewe but the system changes all the time in games.

I always put a team out to try and win the game but our main aim is to get something from each game we play."

12:59PM

Sheridan on Crewe victory:

"It gives the players a lift and is probably the first bit of luck I feel we have had since I've been here.

They're the results we want. The work ethic to keep going was great and we finally got the rewards for our workload.

We shouldn't have won the game but I'm just pleased with the outcome and we got three points."

12:58PM

Sheridan on injuries:

"It will be the same squad as Saturday. Tyler Smith, Joel Grant, and Jordan Lyden are all back training but won't be available.

Anthony Grant has concussion still and the doctor will make that decision. Mathieu Baudry is still a few weeks out and is still having scans but it could be a long-term injury. It's a hamstring injury which has been occurring too often so he needs to get it sorted."

12:56PM

John Sheridan has now joined us.

12:55PM

Joe Wollacott has now left us, John Sheridan will join us shortly

12:52PM

Wollacott on Bristol contract:

"Sometimes opportunities are limited but I don't really want to focus on my contract.

I just want to play games and I'm sure the rest will take care of itself."

12:51PM

Wollacott on career so far:

"I've been at Bristol City almost ten years now and as you get older you realise your opportunities come at different times.

I love playing in goal and when you make a big save it must be a similar feeling to scoring a goal.

You have to be patient and realise opportunities will come further down the line. I haven't had many opportunities but I just keep working and stay positive."

12:48PM

Wollacott on Swindon move:

"I wanted to go out and play games and I want to put in good performances to help the club do well.

My contract at Bristol runs until the end of the season so I just want to play well and the rest will take care of itself.

It's frustrating being on a 7-day loan but I can only control what I can and look at things game by game."

12:47PM

Wollacott on squad atmosphere:

"The boys are good and everyone is aware of where we are in the table and we just have to trust each other and keep believing in ourselves."

12:46PM

Wollacott on debut v Crewe:

"I thought I did alright considering I hadn't played for a while and made sure I did the basics well.

I assessed where the ball was to make the save from Mandron's header and that's what I'm there to do ultimately and am happy we won the game.

It wasn't a pretty game in the conditions but the boys did well and kept going.

It was a matter of being focused and I was just trying to remain calm."

12:44PM

We are ready to go.

12:44PM

Joe Wollacott will be joining us first.

12:44PM

We are in the zoom meeting and ready to go.

12:40PM

We are currently just waiting to get into the zoom meeting which was meant to start 10 minutes ago however I believe the team are just finishing off training and will be with us shortly.

12:37PM

Swindon lost by a solitary goal in the reverse fixture earlier in the season as Lewis Montsma scored to take three points away from the County Ground. However much has changed since then with four of the players who started for Swindon having left the club since.

Nobody will give Swindon much of a chance going into this fixture, however Swindon will be looking to build on recent success and earn back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

12:32PM

29 points separate Swindon Town and Lincoln City with The Imps in fine form at the top of the table as they seek to earn automatic promotion to the Championship division. In contrast, Swindon are attempting to avoid the drop and currently sit two points above the relegation zone.

12:30PM

We'll be speaking to manager John Sheridan and goalkeeper Joe Wollacott to get their reaction to Saturday's 2-1 victory over Crewe along with previewing tomorrow evening's match.

12:29PM

Good afternoon and welcome to today's press conference live blog as we build-up to tomorrow's match away to League One leaders Lincoln City.
