Sheridan on Richie Wellens sacking:
"It's just football. It helps if you have got a good chairman who understands.
I know Richie really well, I gave him his first opportunity in football and I have a lot of time for him.
I think he understands that this is just part of football. He did really well at Swindon, went to Salford with a big budget and just won them a trophy.
His sacking doesn't surprise me though because Salford just seem like one of those teams who are trying to buy themselves out the league.
He rang me up after he got sacked, but it will stand him in good stead.
You need to win games and Salford obviously don't think he was doing well enough to keep his job which I think is a bit of a joke."
Sheridan on Conroy:
"He's injured again and he doesn't train enough on a regular basis.
He needs to get himself a lot lot fitter and he picks up too many niggling injuries. He's only trained once in the last six days.
I just think that's a lack of fitness because he's not playing on a regular basis and he needs to start working harder.
For me we get too many injuries and I'm not sure why. We've got players who keep picking up too many injuries."
Sheridan on new defensive set-up:
"I'm not surprised that this formation has produced our best defensive performances.
We've had a lot of players in and out of the team, and I have never had a settled back three or back four.
We've conceded too many poor goals and what I've seen in the last two games I have seen a bit of solidness and have taken that out the last two results."
Sheridan on rest break:
"It gives the players confidence of the back of two good results knowing that we can keep clean-sheets.
We should be doing it more on a. regular basis and this is the time to start picking up results. We have to take the two victories and carry that into the next games.
We have to go into tomorrow with belief and knowledge that we need to pick up points in every game."
Sheridan on beating teams around Swindon:
"We've been inconsistent in our performances and need to be more consistent.
If you are then you get results and this is an evenly matched league.
You need that winning mentality and I'm praying this our time to go on a winning run.
There is plenty of points to play for
Sheridan on relegation pressure:
"The players appreciate what I try and do for them and during the week I'm not like I am on the sidelines and I want to be friends with the players and have a relationship with them.
Some players will be moody when they aren't picked but that's part of being a manager.
The games are coming thick and fast and we need to pick points up early to gain an early advantage.
We need to win games as quickly as possible."
Sheridan on avoiding relegation:
"We've had two good results and I think we deserved the two victories.
My main objective is to stay in this league and throughout the season we have never had a settled side.
I don't want to change the side too much, we know we are good enough on our day to beat most teams in this league but have lacked consistency.
We are on a good run but have told the players not to get too carried away."
Sheridan on Blackpool:
"Not many knew about Jerry Yates when I brought him to Carlisle and he is reaping the rewards of his game.
He works hard, always wants to improve and is doing very well at Blackpool.
He doesn't have outstanding ability but has a great work ethic and is a good kid.
I went to watch Blackpool on Saturday, they are a good side but we are very aware of the danger they pose.
We can be a threat and go into the game confident of getting a result."
Sheridan on back-to-back wins:
"The fact we have kept clean-sheets has allowed us to stay in games and that gives us the belief to go and win the game.
We kept ourselves in the game against Bristol Rovers and was very comfortable in the way we went about the first-half. We scored and saw the game through.
The two wins have made us look good, feel good, and now we will take that into tomorrow."
Sheridan on packed schedule:
"We've been playing a lot of games anyway and we will just be trying to keep players fit and doing what you think you need to do.
The games coming as quick as they are take care of themselves. We won't change too much but just want to keep people as sharp as possible.
I've been changing the team too much so I don't want to rotate. When you're winning I would be silly to change too much and hopefully we can keep winning games."
Sheridan on injuries:
"We've not picked up any injuries and everyone is fit and available apart from our long-term injuries.
Christopher Missilou is back today and will be in the squad. He played well against Senegal but I will assess him when he is back in the morning.
John Sheridan has now joined us.
Matty Palmer has now left us, John Sheridan will join us shortly.
Palmer on League Table:
"As players we try not to look at the table before games. If we win then you take a look at it afterwards but it's not something we concern ourselves with too much.
If we keep winning then the table will take care of itself."
Palmer on Swindon creating more chances:
"We've kept the ball better than in previous games and that allows us to create more.
The last two games we have created more and obviously took our chances better which has given us a platform in the game.
The players in defence are good with the ball and used to bringing it out of defence which as a midfielder allows you to create angles instead of having the ball go over your head."
Palmer on Blackpool:
"They are on a good run of form but we feel we can win this game.
We know a few of their players but are confident."
Palmer on change in defence:
"Both AG and Camp are experienced players and that definitely helps, Camp has massively helped AK and Ellis Iandolo.
Hopefully that keeps on going."
Palmer on recent changes:
"The formation we have changed to has suited us and defensively we are a lot more sound.
We are better on the ball now and got to keep it going tomorrow and build on our two recent wins.
The players currently in the side suit the formation and it helps having people at the back who are good on the ball.
Hopefully we can take that on to the end of the season."
Palmer on end of season nerves:
"These are pressure games but you should be used to that as a professional footballer.
We need to replicate what we have done in our last two games and pick up points as soon as possible.
Sometimes a team who have nothing to pay for can be dangerous on their day, but we have to just look at things game by game and try to pick up three points starting against Blackpool."
Palmer on break from games:
"We're ready to go after picking up those two wins which made the break easier and we are raring to go tomorrow.
We've got a busy run coming up but we are all looking forward to it and picking up the points we need to stay up.
We've had good rest and the next 9 games are crucial for us."
Matty Palmer has now joined us.
We will be speaking to Matty Palmer first, followed by manager John Sheridan as we get the answers to questions you want asked as we enter the closing stages of the season.
