Website 0330 002 1993That concludes our press conference blog. We will have lots of interviews going out today across our channels so keep an eye out.
Sheridan on analysis of being best out of bottom seven:
"I think that because all of the other teams are losing as well.
Bristol Rovers had a good result the other day, Burton went and beat Hull, and we are capable of beating sides.
I'm lucky we are in a group of teams where I can still say that.
I don't think we are going to finish mid-table and I'm not saying we are the best team in the bottom seven but if you asked me could we finish at the top of a table with those seven teams around us then I would say yes.
There are strong teams around us but we can pick up results when people least expect it as well."
Sheridan on playing more aggressive:
"You can be aggressive with passing and we have to be on the front-foot more, especially when we are at home.
Whether we are an aggressive team I don't know.
We have to believe in ourselves more and not be afraid to take chances or take risks and not sit back.
When you are at home I think we should take the game to teams and I really do think we have it in our locker to perform better.
Unfortunately there is games where we haven't shown it."
Sheridan on club funds past February:
"I don't get involved in all that but I don't know what money we got for DJ.
I need to concentrate on the team and any player I've asked for I've got and as a manger I couldn't ask for anything more.
The board have 100% backed me up."
Sheridan on team changes:
"It's had a massive effect not being able to keep the team unchanged.
I don't like changing my team but injuries have been the main thing behind that decision.
Whatever team I put out it's important that those players are ready and I want to keep a settled side."
Sheridan on results:
"We're inconsistent in the way we play and if we were consistent then we wouldn't be in this position.
If we play the way we can then we can win this game.
The style of play isn't important at the minute, the most important thing is winning and picking up points.
Games are coming around quickly and we have to win games as quickly as possible.
We need to look after ourselves and not worry about anyone else. We go into this game positive but we have to be positive at home."
Sheridan on league position:
We're confident and are still in the mix at the bottom of the league.
If we win this weekend and results go our way then we can go up a couple of places in the league.
I'm not stupid and when you're not winning games everyone has an opinion.
If there are petitions out calling me for be to sacked then you just have to get on with it and hopefully I can prove people wrong.
Sheridan on Crewe:
"They're a good team and are confident in the way they play.
They have good players which they always have done over the years and they play with freedom.
We weren't really at the races against Crewe in the second-half earlier in the season and that goal before half-time changed the game for me."
Sheridan on team meeting last week:
"That is forgotten about now and we have dealt with it. I don't want to talk about it anymore.
They knew what they did wrong and they have been punished and it won't happen again."
Sheridan on training:
"You can be the best player every week in training but the most important time is to perform on Saturday.
Training is enjoyable and they should be ready for Saturday which is when players need to perform."
Sheridan on weeks break:
"We've been getting the lads fit and ready for this game against Crewe.
We've had more time on the training ground and have worked hard this week.
It will be a tough game against Crewe."
Sheridan on injuries:
"Tom Broadbent and Jonathan Grounds are both back for this weekend with Tyler Smith and Joel Grant set to be back in a weeks time.
A lot of our injuries have happened in central defence and they are two big players for us. They want to come into the team to help us get the results we need."
Sheridan on keeper situation:
"Joe Wollacott will be playing Saturday but it is a position we need to get sorted.
He has looked sharp and hopefully will play well Saturday. We need to make sure the free agent we bring in is right for the club and is a keeper that will help us start winning games."
John Sheridan has now joined us.
Brett Pitman has now left us and John Sheridan will join us shortly.
Pitman on this season:
"I'm surprised with this season and when I signed I thought we would have a really successful season.
That success looks different and success for us will be staying up this season.
We haven't been good enough on the pitch but luckily we have enough games to try and change that position."
Pitman on personal form:
"I feel a lot better and hopefully can stay fit and play a lot of games between now and the end of the season.
I'm always looking to score and that's my job. Hopefully there will be more goals and I think my record speaks for itself."
Pitman on players late to meeting last week:
"I believe you shouldn't be late for anything and sometimes there are outstanding circumstances but there is no excuse for being late in my opinion.
If you have a meeting at 10.30, you get there at 10.15 and don't think you should ever be late.
I've never been late and that's the way it should be. Just because someone is late doesn't mean the squad isn't happy.
Maybe they just need to be pushed along and everyone is capable of being on time."
Pitman on relegation:
"I'm an experienced players and know what relegation means and the negative effect it has on players, the club, fans and the town.
The experienced players try to pass on the effects of relegation to the younger players and no one wants relegation on their cv."
Pitman on team performances:
"We've got a really good group of lads who all get on and all want to be successful.
We can't start pointing fingers at individuals and I think everybody has made mistakes. Everyone has to take responsibility.
Injuries definitely haven't helped and when we lost a lot of players earlier in the season it knocked our confidence.
We've never got on a run and never built any momentum this season and that has to be our aim."
Pitman on his role:
"I've enjoyed the past few games and we are working on getting balls into the front men with more quality and more frequently. "
Pitman on teams lack of goal chances:
"Any forward would say that they want more chances and I would love to be given five or six chances every game.
Hopefully we can do that going forward and get enough points to stay up.
It does get frustrating at times but we are working on it."
Pitman on team morale:
"The mood this week has been really good and it's been our first full week without a game with a full week of training.
The atmosphere is good and we are feeling positive going into this game. We've been working on things and will be training again tomorrow to solidify things for Saturday."
We are in and ready to go. Brett Pitman has now joined us.
Sitting in 12th position of the League One standings, Crewe have endured a season of mixed fortunes fluctuating between good and bad patches of form. David Artell's side are currently 16 points better of than Swindon this season, but luckily for Swindon fans, they have won just once in their last five matches and come off the back of a two-nil away loss to Peterborough.
We are still waiting at the moment, apologies for the delay but we will be ready to go hopefully very shortly. While we wait let's take a look ahead to this weekend's match.
We understand the players are just finishing up at training but they should be with us shortly.
We are currently waiting to join the zoom meeting and will then be straight underway. We've had lots of fan questions sent into us over on our Twitter account and we will be doing our best to ask as many of these as possible. In the meantime if you're not following us on Twitter, follow us @totalsportswin and get involved.
Swindon currently sit just one point away from safety and it looks set to be a scrappy end to the season with seven teams all capable of being relegated. Swindon have won just one of their last five fixtures but can that change on Saturday?
We will be speaking to Sheridan and striker Brett Pitman today as we ask the questions you want answered as Swindon attempt to climb out of the League One relegation zone.
Good afternoon and welcome to another Total Sport Swindon live blog as we bring you all the need-to-know information from John Sheridan as Swindon Town prepare to welcome Crewe Alexandra to the County Ground on Saturday.
