Website 0330 002 1993John Sheridan has now left us and that concludes today's press conference.
Sheridan on not doing post-match press conference after Oxford defeat:
"Sometimes you need a different voice and Tommy Wright is very knowledgeable.
I don't turn up when we win at times and never get asked why.
Sometimes a different voice is more appreciative because I might repeat myself.
I don't see any harm in it.
The problem for the fans is that we are losing too many games and they are frightened of us getting relegated.
I'm not disrespecting the fans and I would never be disrespectful to them.
The fans are the most important thing to any club and I know Oxford was the biggest game for them and I was gutted with that.
I'm not being disrespectful by not talking."
Sheridan on his future at the club:
"My main objective is keeping Swindon in this division. I'm 57-years-old and I have had a very good career in football and I appreciate being in a job at this moment in time.
Whatever comes after this season I don't know. I'm not thinking of myself, I'm just thinking about keeping the club in this division.
If I keep us up then the chairman might think I've done a brilliant job and give me a two or three-year contract, that's just the way football works at times.
I'm not stupid and football is a funny game.
Whilst I'm here and in charge I will give 150%."
Sheridan on next run of games:
"I know we have games coming up against team's in and around us but my main focus is Gillingham tomorrow.
I'm going into all these games with the belief we can win.
I've got to look at every game that we have to win it. We have tough games but have competed with good teams in this league and we go into every game trying to win starting with Gillingham tomorrow."
Sheridan time at Swindon:
"This hasn't been my hardest job in management and I've been in this situation before and done well.
Management is tough and I know it is frustrating for the fans and we want to stay in the league.
I know the results aren't good enough but I still believe we can stay up.
I'm not going to make excuses, I've been here long enough to get us out the bottom four and it is a tough league."
Sheridan on team improvement under him:
"Swindon had a better team last year when we were in League Two.
injuries haven't helped our situation and my main objective is to keep the club in this league.
We have a good opportunity to do that and that is my only focus.
We now need to go on our best run of the season."
Sheridan on importance of home games:
"I know we can beat anyone on our day and we have shown that in glimpses.
If we are on our game then we can compete and have performed in games when we didn't think we would win.
We need to keep ourselves in the game more and there is fight from the players.
We have to believe in ourselves and will fight and keep going. There is an opportunity for us to avoid relegation and we will be working hard to do that."
Sheridan on selection dilemmas:
"The biggest problem is not knowing who to play.
No one shows me the consistency to play every game and I actually don't like changing my team as much as I have done.
It's not good enough at the minute from myself and the players."
Sheridan on starting slowly:
"You see goals at the Premiership and wonder how they have conceded that. It's so easy to watch football, but it's a lot more different when you are out on the pitch.
Every football team goes out to win but some will win and some will lose.
A lot of our games are own downfall and it's down to the players to do the talking on the pitch.
You have to see situations quickly and organise each other.
If we didn't concede these types of goals we would be safe now."
Sheridan on conceding early:
"We instils it in the players to go out and start games on the front-foot.
For some reason we let the opposition start well and bring problems onto ourselves.
You make your own lunch and we just have to stay as positive as possible."
Sheridan on Oxford defeat:
"It's a difficult result to take and disappointing with the way we started. The goals were very avoidable and it's simple things.
Conceding early put a downer on what we had worked on and with it being Oxford it is a massive disappointment.
I can't fault the players effort and it is very rare when I do. It's happened throughout the season with individual errors.
If we had scored the penalty then I think we could've pushed on and won the game.
We've got to stay as positive as we can."
Sheridan on Anthony Grant:
"He did alright when he came on and picked the team up a bit pushing us forward.
I've explained what is required of him and he is an experienced player. The experienced players could be the important players this season."
Sheridan on injuries:
"Hallam Hope has had a back spasm and he will be assessed but other than that everyone is more or less available other than the long-term injuries."
John Sheridan has now joined us.
Scott Twine has now left us, John Sheridan will be joining us shortly.
Twine on this season:
"Conceding early doesn't help and that sets us off to a bad start.
The first goal is so important and we need to stay in the game more because when we do we create chances.
It's hard and we need to make sure that we start games faster and be on the front-foot more."
Twine on next few games:
"We need to pick points up starting tomorrow because the team's around us are winning games.
We need to go on a run and pick up points it's as simple as that."
Twine on contract situation:
"There isn't anything at the minute and I'm trying to focus on staying up.
What division we are in isn't a factor on my thinking. There is more to worry about than my contract.
We need to win games and stay in the division which is the most important thing to me.
Twine on personal pressure:
"Everyone has their role in the team and I am in the team to create chances and score goals.
We do score goals that are different but I don't think there is more pressure on me than anyone else.
My role is to create goals, score goals, and create chances."
Twine on group confidence:
"It's hard where we are in the table and losing the derby is the worst thing for us.
We need to stick together and if we win tomorrow then we can look forward to trying to go on a run.
Tomorrow is a very important game and we need to start picking up points.
Twine on his role:
"I'm trying to get in good positions on the half-turn which I haven't been able to do as much as I would've liked in the past games.
I'm there to create chances and we need to win games.
I think teams are compact against us and it's hard to find space at times.
We need to move the ball quicker, switch the play more and create those gaps. Hopefully we have learnt from our mistakes and can play better tomorrow."
Twine on conceding early:
"I think we need to start on the front-foot more and I don't know why we don't at times.
We need to do our jobs and we can't allow ourselves to concede so early."
Twine on Oxford defeat:
"So disappointing to lose the game and the way we played.
It is unacceptable to concede that early and in a derby game we can't go one-nil down that early.
I don't think we played well enough to win the game which is disappointing tomorrow and we need to bounce back tomorrow."
We will be speaking with Scott Twine first who has joined us now.
We are waiting to join the zoom call and will be in shortly.
Good afternoon and welcome to our press conference blog as we speak to Swindon Town manager John Sheridan along with midfielder Scott Twine ahead of the weekend visit of Gillingham.
