Garner on Tyreece Simpson:
"I think he will only improve. He has a fantastic attitude, a great character and is improving every day - and I do mean every day.
You see him on the training ground, his movement, his understanding of the game, his finishing, his understanding defensively of when to press and how to press.
He is a great kid who is getting better all the time and I fully expect him to keep doing that this season.
There may be ups and downs as you expect with a 19-year-old but I love him to bits, he is a fantastic player and I'm certain he will do fantastic for us this season."
Garner on season so far:
"Football changes so quickly. A week before the season we were favourites for relegation and six weeks later we're being asked why aren't we in the top three. That's how quickly football changes but from our point of view inside the club we need to ignore the noise and focus on the process and performances every week.
We don't focus on what people are saying, we just focus on what we can control and see where that takes us."
Garner on season expectations:
"The aim of staying hasn't changed from our perspective. We had that aim of staying in the league and putting the club on a strong footing.
From that we will do as well as we can. We aren't lacking ambition or drive, we want to do as well as we can this season, but the important thing is to do that from a secure base and not get carried away or build things on quicksand.
We want to finish as high as we can in the league as every team does but we are fully aware of the situation the club was in when we walked through the door and the important thing is we maintain the great history of this club and keep it in the football league."
Garner on team fitness:
"We're really happy with the team's fitness and we are still doing so now so there won't be any excuses on not having a full pre-season.
It is what it is,"
Garner on away record:
"This is a close-knit group and those first away games gave players a chance to get to know each other better with the hours on the coach and hours in hotels.
The away support has been terrific in every game and so far we have performed very well. We want to get three points away from home."
Garner on tactics:
"We aren't going to move away from the way we play, we just need to get better at executing the way we want to play. Port Vale was the only game where we felt we played a little bit under par.
We're happy with the start to the season and now want to push on and that starts tomorrow."
Garner on Northampton:
"They've made a good start to the season and with their clean-sheets are very well organised and very structured.
They pose a threat and are very good off set-pieces so we know it will be a tough game. We are unbeaten away from home and will be going there looking to win the game.
We're focusing on ourselves and need to be better in what we do. That has been our big focus this week and I'm fully expecting a much stronger performance."
Garner on injuries:
"Ricky Aguiar is fine and available. Harry McKirdy we are still assessing and will be making a decision after training. Anthony Grant is back in training on Monday."
Garner on team news:
"We have one or two that won't make the weekend but anyone that does miss out this weekend will be back in contention next week.
Mathieu Baudry and Jordan Lyden have trained this week and after this morning we will make a decision on the squad and finalise the squad that will travel to Northampton.
I saw Jordan Lyden a lot at Aston Villa and here at Swindon but I have been really impressed with him as a character."
Garner on EFL ruling last night:
"From our point of view it's nothing to do with us and I think it's a fair judgement because it is all about what happened with the club previously."
Garner on Devante Rodney Port Vale ban:
"It's disappointing action wasn't taken in the game but the FA had no choice but to act on it.
We are fortunate Romoney Crichlow didn't suffer serious injury. It's not nice for anyone to get a whack in the head like that but I don't think it impacted him."
Ben Garner has joined us.
We are in the zoom meeting and waiting for Ben Garner to join us.
