8:48AM

That conclude's today's press conference with Ben Garner. We will have a write-up of all the key quotes for you later this morning. Thanks for joining us as always.

8:47AM

Garner on high-scoring matches:

"I'd like to think that we would have a few high-scoring games and if we could have a couple of three-nil and four-nil wins then I would be a bit calmer on the sidelines.

It's a very competitive league this season and there hasn't been much in a lot of the games and it is fine margins.

I think there is a reluctance to losing and a focus on not making mistakes. We want our players to be free and to play with a positive mindset in the game and attack games.

We want to dominate as much as we can, be as competitive as we can and win as many games as we can. It's about finding that balance with our group and that's always our focus on a weekly basis."

8:43AM

Garner on defensive partnership:

"AK did play last weekend and there is competition in the centre-back position with Mathieu Baudry back in the mix as well.

We have got competition in each area of the pitch and we want players to have the trust of us as staff to go and play well but also for them to understand that if they don't play well then there are other people to come in and get that shirt and grab that place win the team."

8:42AM

Garner on Jayden Mitchell-Lawson:

"Jayden went a long period without much football, the best part of 18 months with minimum game time due to a loan, then going back to his parent club, picking up an injury and then lockdowns being thrown into the mix so he had a long period without playing.

We are just building him back up, he has worked really hard to recover from the knee injury he had and it's just a case of building him back up in the right way.

When he is ready to start a game we will give him that league start. He is a fantastic player to have in our squad."

8:36AM

Garner on home game tomorrow:

"We want to put in a good home performance and we want to match good performances with points at home now. That is our focus going into tomorrow, particularly tomorrow with the home crowd behind us."

8:35AM

Garner on Colchester:

"They have really good away form and are unbeaten on the road. They are a good team with lots of experience with players who have played at the top levels, and they also have some talented young players as well. We need to play well to win the game."

8:34AM

Garner on upcoming mid-week schedule:

"We're into a regular season routine now but still do a lot of double sessions each week. A player who is playing every minute doesn't need to be doing as much loading and we are individualising parts of training."

8:33AM

Garner on McKirdy, Baudry, Lyden:

"All of them have trained and we have had a good week. There is no one that I would say is unavailable for tomorrow, it is just a case of fitness levels and picking the right team and bench for tomorrow. The fact that we have no injuries is a credit to the staff here and the players."

8:31AM

Garner on Anthony Grant:

"He's trained this week and is back in the mix for selection tomorrow."

8:31AM

Ben Garner has joined us and we are ready to go.

8:27AM

Tomorrow's game against Colchester United is Swindon's fifth home game of the season with the Robins losing twice, drawing once, and just winning one game so far. We will be asking Ben Garner about his side's home record so far this season and what needs to be done to improve it.

8:24AM

We are in the zoom meeting and Ben Garner will be joining us shortly.

8:22AM

Good morning and welcome to today's Swindon Town press conference coverage as the Robins welcome Colchester United to the County Ground tomorrow. We'll be in the press conference with Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner in a few minutes time.
