PREVIEW: Chesterfield v Swindon Town

Swindon Town have mixed fortunes when it comes to player availability for their match against Chesterfield on Saturday.

Striker Jonathan Obika missed the mid-week EFL Cup match against QPR and manager Luke Williams confirmed at full-time that the ex-Tottenham man has "no chance" of featuring at the Proact stadium.

Captain Nathan Thompson and Coventry City match-winner Yaser Kasim were both substituted at Loftus Road, but just as a precaution and the pair are expected to start.

Liverpool loanee Lloyd Jones was forced off before extra-time due to a damaged knee with Williams conceding that the club are not sure whether he will be able to make the trip to Derbyshire.

"Lloyd (Jones) had a pain in the back of his knee," Williams said post-QPR "We will have to assess him more thoroughly over the next 48 hours (Thursday and Friday)."

Town will be boosted, however, by the news that Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill will be available for selection again as a result of him now coming to the end of a three-match ban that stretched back to the latter end of the 2015-16 campaign.

Although, the former Arsenal full-back may not start due to the impressive early-season form of James Brophy, who picked up the Man of the Match award on the opening day and netted against QPR on Wednesday.

Michael Doughty will also be in line to return to the heart of the Robins' midfield - he missed the EFL Cup tie as Football League regulations prevented him from facing off against his parent club.

New loan signing Darnell Furlong needed to be registered by 12pm on Friday to be in contention to make the matchday squad and, given that he was announced by the club at one-minute past midday, that should see him in the clear.
