PREVIEW: CREWE ALEXANDRA V SWINDON TOWN

SWINDON TOWN travels to Crewe Alexandra this evening as the Robins aim to get back to winning ways with their second match in the space of three days. TotalSport Swindon’s Ryan Walker provides all the must-know information ahead of the encounter.

Just days after Swindon Town struggled to a goalless draw against Oldham, Phil Brown and his squad now travel to 18th placed Crewe hoping to leave the Midlands with all three league points.

Having secured victory seven times from their last ten meetings, Swindon will be high on confidence knowing that victory tonight will edge them closer to the playoff positions.

Contrasting forms have Town tipped as favourites as they head to Crewe’s Gresty Ground stadium with the hosts having taken only eight points from their opening nine games.

Manager David Artell is under pressure with his side winless since the start of September, a 3-0 home victory over Macclesfield, whilst Swindon have excelled on the road this season, scoring eight away goals already this campaign.

Goalless in their last match stunted Swindon’s ability to score in every league game so far this season, however with Elijah Adebayo in a purple patch of form, and star playmaker Michael Doughty edging near to a return from injury, tonight’s game provides Town with a great opportunity to get their fifth win of the season.

Injury news for Swindon sees Kyle Knoyle return following his three-match suspension, but Michael Doughty remains sidelined due to a hip injury with long-term absentees Chris Robertson and Kaiyne Woolery still unavailable.

Tonight’s game will raise an issue of complacency as Phil Brown’s squad are expected to return to Wiltshire having secured victory against a weak opposition, but recent games have shown that Swindon often struggles against some of the leagues smaller teams.

Score prediction: 0-3 Swindon win
