Town have had a pair of miserable home defeats to Crawley and Barnet but now return to away fixtures which, although still very early on in the season, have been a lot better for them.
From the two matches they have played on the road this season, Swindon have picked up maximum points, from the 2-1 win at Carlisle and the 1-0 victory at Morecambe.
Luton have won both of their home matches, however: beating Yeovil 8-2 on the opening day shortly followed by a 3-0 thrashing of Colchester.
They will be without three players for the trip to Kenilworth Road, however as Johnny Goddard and Kyle Knoyle remain injured and Donal McDermott is beginning his three-match ban due to his sending off on Saturday.
Knoyle, a right-back, is the closest to a return as boss David Flitcroft expects the summer signing from West Ham to be back in training on Monday.
Goddard will have to be patient though, as there has been a delay in recovering from his foot injury, which Flitcroft originally thought would be a two-to-three-week-long process, but is taking longer.
There is good news for skipper Olly Lancashire though, both on and off the field.
He had to come off at half-time on Saturday due to his wife going into labour and the newborn is now settled and Lancashire has been given the green light to play at the weekend.
Swindon Town have not played Luton in a league fixture since January 2008, in Luton, which ended in a 1-0 Swindon win courtesy of a goal from Christian Roberts.
Since that, the Robins beat the Hatters in a 2014 League Cup tie but lost to them in last year's EFL Trophy first knockout round.
