0700 392 1235Swindon made light work of a Rye House side currently sitting just three points above the bottom of the premiership table after earning their highest points total of the season, a 51-39 win, when the sides met just under a month ago in the Knockout Cup competition.
But after enduring a shock league defeat on the road at Leicester last night, could today provide Rye House the opportunity to take revenge or will Swindon extend their unbeaten home record this season?
Currently sitting top of the British premiership table, Thursday evening provides the Wiltshire side the opportunity to further extend their lead at the top, with second placed Wolverhampton not racing tonight.
And with a line-up that consistently dominates at their home track, many would be surprised should Swindon fail to record their sixth league win of the season.
Troy Batchelor continues to impress for the Robins this year and the Australian ace will be crucial to success tonight as he seeks to replicate the paid maximum he scored last time the sides met.
Despite their league position, seventh in the table, Rye House fans have reason to be optimistic after losing just one of their last four league meetings. However, riders will need to be at their very best if they are to earn victory at Swindon’s Abbey Stadium.
An aging Rye House side has seen the team criticised for having too many individuals in the squad and not working as a team, something which was evident when the Essex outfit visited Swindon just last month.
And if they are to stand any chance again Alun Rossiter’s Robins, then teamwork must be top of the list of priorities.
The Swindon riders will be hungry to make amends for last nights disappointing defeat and that makes them a real threat against a Rye House side struggling to live up to expectations.
Rye House will do well to keep the scores close throughout the entirety of the meeting and their focus must be on not letting Swindon getting an early advantage.
Outcome:Swindon victory. But will be closer than some may think.
