PREVIEW: Swindon Town vs MK Dons

Swindon Town have the luxury of no added injury concerns ahead of what is a crucial game, against the MK Dons, on Saturday.

Following back-to-back wins, over Millwall and Fleetwood, Swindon suddenly find themselves in real contention for survival again as, although they remain 22nd with 42 points, the Robins are just three behinds under the dotted line that signifies safety.

A win over Milton Keynes on Saturday (15:00 kick-off) could lift them out of the bottom four, providing Shrewsbury and at least one of Port Vale and Gillingham lose. Shrewsbury (21st, 43 points) host Rochdale, Port Vale (20th, 45 points) travel to Chesterfield while Gillingham (19th, 45 points), are at home to Millwall.

There are no new injury worries for Swindon but they will be without midfielder Yaser Kasim and forward Jordan Stewart.

Captain Nathan Thompson and Queens Park Rangers loanee Ben Gladwin have both been playing with niggling concerns though.

Gladwin was replaced in the line-up 10 minutes before kick-off to the Millwall win and did not start against Fleetwood, but did come on as a 69th-minute sub against the Cod Army.

Thompson meanwhile was in deep pain in the closing stages of Millwall, coming off in the 89th minute, but played the entire 90 minutes against Fleetwood the following Saturday.

Swindon are searching for their third straight win tomorrow. If they succeed in achieving it, it would be the first time they have achieved such a feat since February 2016 which ended up being a four-match win streak.

Town have not won three games on the trot without conceding since October 2013.

MK are in good form themselves, however, as they are unbeaten in four, with three of those wins, including the last two.

While that may daunt home support, they can take solace that Robbie Neilson's side struggle on their travels, with just one win on the road from their last seven attempts.

Head-to-head record though is in favour of the club founded in 2004 as they are unbeaten in the last six matches against Swindon, with Town's last win coming in August 2012.
