Website 0330 002 1993Williams is the highest profile departure following the end of a disappointing 2022/23 season for Town, as he has not been offered a new deal following the expiry of his contract.
The Welsh international joined Swindon in the summer of 2021 and spent two seasons at the club, finishing the 2022/23 season as the club’s top goal scorer with ten goals and also recording two assists.
The 29-year-old has made more appearances (70), scored more goals (15), and recorded more assists (eight) at Swindon than he has at any other club in his career.
Defender Tom Brewitt is the only out-of-contract player to have been offered a new contract by Swindon as they look to tie down the former-Liverpool ace who joined the club on a short-term contract as a free agent in March.
Town also confirmed that they have exercised their options to extend the contracts of George McEachran and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy to keep them in Wiltshire for the 2023/24 season.
Williams is joined in his exit by Mathieu Baudry, who has retired from professional football after 17 seasons in the game, spending his last four seasons at the County Ground where he won the League Two title in 2019/20 and reached the League Two play-offs with the club in 2021/22.
The other players to have not been offered another deal by new manager Mike Flynn are Cian Harries, Mo Dabre, Morgan Roberts, Harry Parsons, Oscar Massey and George Cowmeadow.
At present Swindon have 19 players under contract for next season.
