REVIEW: STFC Matchday Experience

Our Sales and Marketing Director, Rachael, was lucky enough to enjoy STFC hospitality for the Swindon Town v Bury match on 15th September. Here's what she thought...

What better way to describe the STFC hospitality than “An experience to remember“. I would highly recommend this experience for both Swindon Town fans and non fans alike.

I along with my husband and 5-year-old daughter Ava had the pleasure of attending STFC on Saturday for their Bury Match.

From the initial arrival at the main Arkell's stand at 12.30pm we could tell we were in for a treat.

We were taken through to our table in the Imagine Cruising Suite and were seated with a lovely group 8 of us in total on our table.

From the start the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, and I was pleased that there was a lovely mix of Corporate sponsors, families, and fans enjoying a match day experience; In some cases celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. There was a lovely buzz of excitement in the room.

We were welcomed by our brilliant Matchday Host who filled us in on the pre-match news and team sheet.

After we had settled ourselves down, we browsed through the complimentary programme over a drink and mingled with some of the STFC staff. We had the pleasure of chatting with an former STFC Player which added a real element of behind the scenes action and personal experiences to the day.

Our pre-match tour began with great excitement, this was my favourite part of the day. Visiting the changing rooms and directors suite was wonderful but walking through the tunnel out on to the pitch was a very special experience for all my family.

Seeing the stadium from this vantage point, sitting in the dugout is spectacular and we were thrilled to be greeted by a first team player Elijah Adebayo who happily chatted and posed for photographs. A real wow moment!

The excitement was really building  for the game now but not before we were seated for a delicious 3 course meal. The food was to a very high standard and children were catered for.

We opted for Minted Pea and watercress soup and Chorizo and red pepper frittata for our first course, followed by Pan fried chicken breast served with parmesan and garlic mushroom cream, seasonal vegetables and potatoes and Miso glazed cod loin, noodles and bok choy sesame dressing. For dessert, home made crepes with sweetened mascarpone and mixed berries.

Following the meal, we were led out to our premier executive seating ready for Kick Off. The seats were perfect viewing for all the action both on the pitch and the side-lines adjacent to the director’s box.

The atmosphere in the ground was really comfortable especially with a child and everyone was in high spirits even though the first half didn’t go our way.  The atmosphere couldn’t be dampened and we returned back to the suite for half time, refreshments with a chatter of half time analysis and excitement of what the second half would hold.

The second half didn’t disappoint with a goal from the home side, the stands erupted much to my daughter’s delight. The experience was heightened by watching the entertaining action from the club managers on the side-lines from our privileged vantage point.

At the final whistle we returned to the suite to refreshments and post-match analysis from our humorous match day host.

For the finale of the day, The Man of the Match visited the suite and post-match presentations were carried out and the results from our table quiz.

We stayed for another half an hour after chatting and mingling as we didn’t want the experience to end.

The hospitality experience it a truly enjoyable experience, for all that I would highly recommend booking.

Next stop for us will the The Mascot day experience!
