Robins rider ratings v Somerset Rebels

SWINDON ROBINS endured their first home defeat of the season as league leaders Somerset Rebels took all four-premiership points in a 49-41 away victory. TotalSport Swindon’s Ryan Walker gives his Robins rider ratings.

Nick Morris ©: 7

Scoring just eight points from his last two meetings for the Wiltshire club, team captain Morris once again got back to double point scoring form. Looked hungry to impress and proved doubters wrong, but will be disappointed with his sides defeat. Consistency is key for Morris and hopefully he has put his poor form behind him.

Adam Ellis: 8

Another classy performance for Ellis saw the Robins racer get the better of his opposite number on multiple occasions as he raced to nine points in total. Extremely quick out the gates and held his nerve to attempt brave overtakes round the outside line. Some great racing from a talented rider.

Troy Batchelor: 6

An unusual performance from Batchelor as the Australian ace struggled to cope with difficult track conditions. Has endured a great season in Robins kevlars so far this season, but appeared frustrated as World Champion Jason Doyle displayed his talent winning in heat eleven. He has the talent to help Swindon retain their title, but must keep a level head in the most difficult circumstances.

Tobiasz Musielak: 9

Dropped just one point on the night as the 24-year-old made amends for a difficult couple of meetings. Looked determined to succeed and showed his ability to even beat Jason Doyle in heat five. Gated well and looked dangerous all evening. Alun Rossiter will be hoping his move to number four in the side will reap benefits for his Swindon side.

Jack Matthews: 2

Scored two points from five rides but appears to be out of his depth racing in the top league of British speedway. Always tries his best but a replacement in the side is needed for Smith.

Ellis Perks: 0

Failed to complete his opening three heats after falling under his own accord. Scored no points for Swindon and will be disappointed with his performance after being given a chance to impress.
