Rossiter calls for big turn out, as Sky Sports return to the Abbey

Swindon Robins bosses are urging supporters to roar the Robins to victory when they host Coventry in front of the Sky TV cameras on Monday, July 4, a 7.30pm meet which offers discounted admission of ten pounds.

The clash was originally scheduled for Thursday, June 30 but the Bees will now travel to the Abbey four days later after the meet was rescheduled, to enable the meeting to be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The club have announced discounted admission prices of just £10 for adults and concessions for the meeting as they look to attract a big turn-out for a crucial encounter.

Team manager Alun Rossiter knows they cannot afford any more slip-ups at the Abbey this season – and he hopes a large crowd can help them claim a crucial three points to bolster their play-off bid.

“We want to see the Abbey packed for this meeting, it always looks better on TV when there's a big crowd,” Rossiter said.

“It's less than a month away and it will be a crucial part of the season for both clubs. We cannot afford to slip up at home again this season so there will be a lot on the line.

“Coventry will be desperate for points away from home too, so let's pack the Abbey like Bank Holiday Monday and create a fantastic atmosphere for the boys to race in and for Sky Sports.”

Meanwhile, the M&S Van Rental Robins will return to action when they host fellow play-off hopefuls Lakeside at the Abbey next Thursday, June 16 (7.30).

The meeting will kick-off a big two days for the club as they travel to the Arena-Essex Raceway for the return fixture the very next evening.
