0700 392 1235A comfortable victory for Swindon saw them dominate proceedings finishing the evening with a 59-31 first leg advantage. And Rossiter said his squad were very professional in the way they dealt with the cup-tie.
“Speedway is never easy but our boys made it look a lot easier tonight,” said Rossiter.
“Full credit to my riders and they can only ride the competition that’s in front of them.
“You’d be worried of a tough meeting with the team that Rye House turned up with but full respect to our boys.
“I think we were hungrier for success tonight and it’s as simple as that,” he added.
“We got going straight away and we were all on it tonight.
“Every one of my riders was up for it and we scored well all the way through the order,” said Rossiter.
A Rye House side with so much point scoring potential failed to live up to expectations as the travelling side managed just three heat wins on the evening. And in such circumstances, Rossiter admits his job as manager is made easy.
“My job was made easy tonight,” said Rossiter.
“Especially when you don’t have to worry about putting tactical changes in.
“It was a good performance from everybody in the side and whilst Rye House were poor, we were very good,” he said.
With such a big first leg advantage an away trip to Rye House on Wednesday should be nothing more than a formality for the Swindon Robins. But Rossiter states his side want to go there and win.
“We are going to Rye House to win,” said Rossiter.
“We want to make sure we finish the job off and progress in the tournament.
“We don’t want to just go and get the points; we want to go there and win at their track.
“We all want to win trophies and that’s what we are here to do,” he added.
“If you don’t want to win trophies then there is no point in turning up, and we want to win everything.
“Sometimes you have a bad night and it doesn’t work, other nights everything go’s perfect,” said the team manager.
Unbeaten at home this year is seeing the Abbey Stadium develop into a fortress for Alun Rossiter and his squad. And Rossiter explains how confidence levels in the camp are helping the side.
“Confidence is high and that’s important,” said Rossiter.
“We came off a couple of losses and there was no real major stress.
“But we always keep going, will keep digging in and will see how it goes.
“The boys have a lot of banter and make it a lot of fun,” he said.
