Sam Bullas stresses importance of community
Wildcats forward Sam Bullas insists it is vital for him and his teammates to have an impact on the community.
Bullas has become a poster boy for the Swindon Wilcats due to his selfless work in the community and believes more should be done around the town.
"It is fantastic to go around schools to promote healthy eating and healthy living and I am always reading statistics from Swindon and the government and obesity levels are very high at the moment.
"Sport participation after the (London) Olympics had a dramatic increase but now it has dropped below the level before the Olympics so there is a real need in all communities at the moment to develop sport and healthy living so it has amazing that we can give something back.
"For us it is just getting out there, getting the word out and getting people to know there are different opportunities to compete in sport.
"If I can get one child to play football or cricket, rugby, tennis, whatever they want, it is just not ice hockey it is just about getting a child active, getting them moving and eating and living healthier then that is a positive for us."
