Speedway: Morris on Form For Australia
SWINDON star Nick Morris put in a strong showing as Australia finished third in the World Under 21 Team Cup Final in Mildura.
The M&S Van Rental Robins’ youngster ended his season on a positive note, top scoring for the host nation with 12 points.
However, it was not enough to see them overcome a dominant Poland side who romped to their second successive win in the event.
After a retirement in his opening ride, Morris recorded a solid second place before handing his side a lifeline with a classy double points win as he took Australia’s joker in heat 11.
Two more second places followed as Morris’ side comfortably took the Bronze medal, but they were unable to challenge Denmark for second place as Poland emerged as deserved winners.
