Storey To Stick At Inverness Until End Of Season

Swindon Town striker Miles Storey will remain in Scotland, plying his trade on loan with Inverness Caledonian Thistle until the end of the current 2015/16 campaign, the player has today confirmed.

Storey has enjoyed a rich run of form since crossing the border and cutting his teeth in the Scottish Premiership, scoring eight times in 16 appearances for the coastal club.

Storey departed the County Ground in search of regular first team football at the latter end of the summer transfer window.

The original deal signed was set to see Storey don the colours of Caley Thistle until the current January window, but a renegotiated deal means the player will remain in Scotland for the rest of the campaign - after which his contract with the Robins will be up for renewal.

With Town struggling for goals during patches of hardship in the current season, many fans believed Storey would have been called upon to return and pitch in with the goal scoring efforts.

Following the annoucement of the loan deal extension, Storey took to social media platform Twitter to express his delight of clarifying his immediate future, and made clear his ambition to finish the season on a high.

Speaking recently to Scotland's national media, before the loan extension had been finalised, Storey had made clear his ambition to remain in the highlands, citing his stay at Inverness as his finest ever goal-scoring streak.

Storey told the Scottish Sun: "“It’s no secret what I want to do and I’d love to get it done, but it’s up to the two clubs.

“Since I’ve been here one Swindon manager was sacked and the one who replaced him then resigned because of ill health.

“But I don’t think it matters who the manager is. It’s down to the way Swindon play so I don’t think that really affects my situation.

“I think my loan agreement ends on January 9th and a lot of times things happen on the last day, so it will probably be the case again.

“But the Sterling Albion game could be my last one for Inverness, although I hope it’s not.

“The best part of this club is the lads and the gaffer, as a bunch. We’re all together, there are no cliques.

“I know people say that about every club, but it really is the case here and that’s the one thing that’s helped me.

“This is the best scoring streak in my career, the difference is I am playing consecutive games. I have never really had that opportunity before," Storey added.
