Supermarine win is a good start on road for promotion for Swindon Town's Paul Mullin
Swindon Town striker Paul Mullin believes the pre-season win over Swindon Supermarine is a "good start" as the Robins aim for promotion this season.
Mullin scored a hat-trick on his unofficial debut for Town, as they thrashed Swindon Supermarine 7-1 in their first match of pre-season.
Boss David Flitcroft named two different line-ups in each half, going with a 4-3-3 in the first half, and a 4-4-2 in the second.
New striker Mullin, who signed from Morecambe, was part of the second-half team and partnered Luke Norris up front, with Norris also getting on the scoresheet.
At Morecambe, Mullin was more accustomed to having to fight to stay in League Two, but with Swindon the aim is very much to escape it via promotion.
"Obviously at Morecambe the expectations were a lot different," he said.
"I've come straight here and the gaffer made it clear the aims of the club - to gain promotion, whether that be automatic or through the play-offs, that's the aim and today is a good start. Hopefully we can carry it on from here.
"I think if you bring in the right people and add to the squad that was already here, which the gaffer's done it's all going to work well."
