Swindon Robins looking to set the record straight vs Belle Vue
Swindon Robins will look to bounce back from last week’s setbacks as they welcome Belle Vue to the Abbey on Thursday. Boss Alun Rossiter referred to it as tough week after back-to-back defeats to Leicester Lions and Wolverhampton Wolves, challenging his riders to respond positively.
The M&S Van Rental Robins suffered back-to-back defeats including a disappointing home loss against Wolverhampton which received criticism because of the condition of the Abbey track.
However, they will now look to return to their best and earn their second victory of the season as they take on the highly-rated Aces.
Team boss Alun Rossiter believes they have what it takes to come out on top in their pursuit for three more Elite League points.
But he has called on his side to learn from their mistakes and get off to a fast start to ensure they gain the upper hand.
Rossiter said: “I’d say this is the hardest match at home this season, it could well be harder than Poole given Belle Vue’s recent record around Swindon.
“We’ve got to start doing it from the beginning and not leave ourselves with mountains to climb all the time.
“We’ve done the same in the last two meetings, and the boys really need to get stuck in from the off, certainly against Belle Vue because they have some class riders.”
Both sides will be at full strength, with Swindon lining up with a new riding order after the new averages took effect.
Charles Wright jumps from reserve to a heat-leader role, with Josh Grajconzek moving into the No.4 position and Rohan Tungate slotting into the No.6 spot.
Meanwhile, Belle Vue feature a trio of former Robins in the form of Grand Prix star Matej Zagar, seven-time British Champion Scott Nicholls and talented reserve Steve Worrall.
SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Justin Sedgmen, Charles Wright, Josh Grajcoznek, Nick Morris, Rohan Tungate, Stefan Nielsen.
BELLE VUE: Matej Zagar, Max Fricke, Scott Nicholls, Richie Worrall, Craig Cook, Steve Worrall, Joe Jacobs.
