Swindon Robins prepare for Lakeside Abbey showdown

Swindon will search for a third successive victory as they welcome Lakeside to the Abbey tonight, race gates up at 7.30pm. In the same week the club announced a shake up in leadership with a consortium take over, Rossiter's men will be keen to take back to the shale with a victory.

The M&S Van Rental Robins have bounced back from a tough start to the season to hit top form in recent weeks.

They claimed a convincing home win over Belle Vue a fortnight ago before racing to a stunning away victory at Coventry on Monday.

The Hammers have also enjoyed a bright start to the season – but Alun Rossiter’s side will head into the clash high on confidence in their bid to earn three more Elite League points.

No.2 Charles Wright, who has enjoyed a promising start to the season, is delighted to see them proving their capabilities after taking some time to get up to speed.

He is keen to see them maintain their strong run of form to come away with another victory on home shale.
Wright said: “We had some tough meetings early on, but we’ve all started to get more meetings under our belt now and we are getting up to speed.

“We are all gelling together and everyone is starting to show what they can do. Justin Sedgmen is finding his feet, and it helps having Rohan (Tungate) banging in the points at reserve as well.

“We need to keep working hard, but we are aiming to get another win at home against Lakeside on Thursday and get three more points on the board.”

The Robins remain unchanged, whilst Lakeside are also at full strength with Grand Prix star Andreas Jonsson leading their side alongside all-action Brit Lewis Bridger and Swedish racer Kim Nilsson.

SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Charles Wright, Josh Grajczonek, Justin Sedgmen, Nick Morris, Rohan Tungate, Stefan Nielsen.

LAKESIDE: Andreas Jonsson, Piotr Swiderski, Kim Nilsson, Richard Lawson, Lewis Bridger, Robert Mear, Lewis Kerr.
