Swindon Robins take on Lakeside: Race preview
SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter has called on his side to “make the Abbey a fortress again” when they host Lakeside on Thursday - race tapes up at 7.30.
The M&S Van Rental Robins sit well-placed in fourth in the Elite League table but have been left frustrated by two successive home defeats.
Rossiter knows they must rectify their stuttering home form if they are to book their place in the top four – starting when they take on fellow play-off hopefuls Lakeside.
The team manager believes they will need to be at their best to emerge with a vital three points against the Hammers.
Rossiter said: “We need to get back to winning ways at home, and I don’t like using we phrase “must win” but it’s certainly important to get three points if we want to make the play-offs.
“We need to start making the Abbey a fortress again, and that starts against Lakeside on Thursday.
“They are missing a couple of riders but they are still a good side and they caused us some problems earlier in the season, so we’ll need everyone firing to get the three points.”
Rossiter’s side are unchanged for the meeting, whilst Lakeside have drafted in Great Britain international Craig Cook as a guest for Andreas Jonsson.
The Grand Prix star is riding in a Polish League fixture, whilst Kim Nilsson is also missing due to a meeting in Sweden.
