Swindon Supermarine march on in the FA Cup
Swindon Supermarine cruised into the second qualifying round of the FA Cup with a 4-1 thumping of Portishead Town.
Connor Thompson gave Marine the lead at Portishead in the 35th minute when he volleyed in a cross from Jon Shepherd.
It took Supermarine just five minutes into the second half to double their advantage when Connor Waldon decieved the keeper and two defenders before prodding a shot over the line to make it 2-0.
Portishead did hit back with a goal of their own on the hour mark through Robbie Cox, but it was not enough to secure a replay as Marine responded in ruthless fashion.
Callum Parsons restored Marine's two-goal cushion with 20 minutes remaining and then Zak Westlake completed the rout three minutes later.
Parsons slotted home the third after good work by Joe Selman and Westlake finished the scoring when he headed home a corner.
Supermarine will play Farnborough in the next round.
