Conroy hobbled off just before half-time on Saturday after he overstretched to block a shot. The injury, given the nature of it, is suspected to be a hamstring injury, although at the time of his post-match interview, Flitcroft was not sure what the problem was.
The ex-Chelsea defender was due to have a scan on Sunday afternoon, however details of the injury and the extent of it have not been released by the club.
Speaking soon after the full-time whistle and prior to Conroy's scan, Flitcroft said: "Not sure (what he's done yet), we didn't know at half-time, we'll let it settle down.
"He got off the pitch pretty quick, you can always sort of tell when the players are getting your medical staff over where there might be a problem so Dion's come off, we'll let the injury settle down and if he's got to go for a scan that'll probably be tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon.
"We'll let it settle down so we can see what damage is in there."
When asked about the potential length of Conroy's time on the sidelines, Flitcroft replied: "It's pointless talking about it because we don't know, we genuinely don't know."
If Conroy is unavailable for even one game, Flitcroft will only have two recognised centre-backs at this disposal, in the shape of captain Olly Lancashire and fellow summer signing, Chris Robertson.
A potential lack of depth at the back does not concern the Town gaffer at this stage though.
"It's not something we've got to worry about right now. Ask me in a few weeks when we've got none," he joked.
