Swindon Town captain Nathan Thompson still not sure on where his future lies

Out-of-contract captain Nathan Thompson has not yet decided whether he wants to continue his career at Swindon Town.

Thompson has been part of the Swindon Town squad for a decade now, and signed professional terms at the County Ground in 2009.

His long spell at the club may come to and end this summer when his contract expires on June 30.

Sky Sources claim that he will definitely leave, with Championship clubs Ipswich and QPR reportedly keen, as well as League One sides Charlton, Rotherham and Portsmouth.

Thompson, speaking on Saturday, though claims that he has not yet decided on where he will be playing football next season.

"No, not yet. I've said it to numerous people, but I feel like I'm palming people off by not giving them a clear answer but if I'm truthful I don't know.

"I'll leave it up to my agent to come back with options and we will discuss it at a later date, but at the moment in time I'm honestly no clearer as to where I'll be playing football."

Swindon Town have not yet announced their retained list, but four players - Brad Barry, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill, Jordan Stewart and Jamie Sendles-White have all been let go while Ellis Iandolo had his contract extended by another year.

Stewart has since signed for Linfield in his native Northern Ireland while the other three remain free agents at the moment.
