Swindon Town draw Dartford away in FA Cup first-round proper

Swindon Town have learned their first-round opponents in this year's FA Cup.

Swindon have only ever played Dartford once, in an FA Cup second-round tie way back in 1933. Swindon won 1-0. 

Dartford are currently fourth in the National League South, the fifth tier of English football.

Town have not progressed beyond the first round since 2011 where they reached round four after beating Huddersfield, Colchester and then-Premier League side Wigan before losing at Leicester to end what was a memorable cup run.

Last season Swindon lost 3-1 to non-league Eastleigh in a home replay after the Robins drew 1-1 away from home live in-front of the BBC cameras.

The four campaigns prior to that, Town were knocked out by Rochdale (3-1), Cheltenham (5-0), Macclesfield (4-0) all away after Macclesfield again (at home, 2-0).

The tie will be played the weekend of November 3-6.
