Swindon Town fine trio for 'laughing gas' incident

Swindon Town Football Club have issued fines to first team players Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill, Drissa Traore and Jeremy Balmy, following a recent incident in which the trio appeared to be using 'laughing gas' in a social media video.

Following the incident the players were each suspended from their playing duties with the club, subsequently missing Swindon Town's fixtures against Bradford City, Bury and Walsall, in which the Robins picked up one point from a possible nine.

The three players took to their respective social media accounts following the incident and suspension, to issue individual public apologies to club staff and fans alike.

Writing on the club's official website, Swindon Town have stated: 'Swindon Town can confirm that the internal investigation into the recent conduct of Drissa Traore, Jeremy Balmy and Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill has now concluded and a disciplinary meeting has taken place.

The three first team players have been fined by the football club for their actions.

The trio acknowledge that their actions were wrong and would like to apologise to their team mates, the club’s staff and the supporters.

They are keen to move on from this issue and get back to training to help the team as quickly as possible. All three will be considered for selection once again this weekend.

Swindon Town now consider this matter to be closed and will be making no further comment.'
