Swindon Town manager David Flitcroft hopes to have signed Keshi Anderson by next week
The permanent deal of Keshi Anderson is getting closer and closer, with Swindon Town boss David Flitcroft hoping to have it done by next week.
Anderson has been on loan at Swindon from Premier League side Crystal Palace since August 31 last year and his temporary stay at Town came to an end yesterday following Town's 1-0 win over Forest Green.
The 22-year-old was one of the best players on the park and came close to scoring twice at the County Ground in what was an impressive final, for now, appearance for Swindon.
He was replaced by Ben Purkiss late on and got a resounding reception from the home supporters, and there was no sign it was a goodbye from Anderson.
The question of the forward signing a permanent contract at Swindon Town is more of a 'when' rather than 'if', it would seem.
David Flitcroft confirmed on Thursday that Swindon, Palace and Anderson are all keen on Anderson joining the Robins, and boss Flitcroft is expecting pen to meet paper soon.
"We've probably been working - myself, the chairman, Crystal Palace, for three or four weeks now, trying to get something over the line with Kesh," Flitcroft said post-Forest Green.
"He's not let it frustrate him, he's not let it affect him, he's just kept doing his business. He's been really good in training, had another good game today and he's a player that, if we do nail the permanent deal, can go on and on and certainly realise his potential.
"Everyone's worked together. Crystal Palace have been fantastic - Mark Bright, throughout the loan spell, the communication with Mark's been top drawer really, as good as I've had really.
"They really care about Keshi, they haven't just sent him out on loan and that's it, so they know he's in a good place and been looked after. The club's done everything right by him, whether that's accommodation or supporting Kesh and he's found a good home.
"Hopefully we can get a deal done, Keshi wants to do something with us and early part of next week we're hoping to have him lined up so he's a permanent."
