Swindon Town one of four clubs reportedly keen on loaning Sheffield United's Chris Hussey
According to HITC Sport, Swindon Town are among four clubs keen on taking Sheffield United defender Chris Hussey on loan.
Swindon are in the process of a big rebuild job this summer, following relegation to League Two, and have already added six new faces to the squad as they try and return to League One as soon as possible.
The vast majority of these are defense-minded, as all but one of the six are defenders or ball-winning midfielders. Striker Paul Mullin is the exception to this rule.
David Flitcroft is still in the market to bolster his back four though, as Chris Hussey is a 28-year-old left-back. Swindon only have on left-back at the club currently, in the shape of James Brophy, following the end of Fankaty Dabo's loan, and the release of Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill.
Town face competition for Hussey's signature though as League One clubs Blackpool, Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth are also said to be monitoring Hussey's sitatuation at newly-promoted Championship club Sheffield United.
Hussey is in the last year of his contract at Bramall Lane, which means he would be available as a free transfer next season, and he is no longer part of Chris Wilder's plans at the Blades.
He began last season as their first-choice left-back, but was gradually phased out of the side, making 11 appearances in all competitions.
Flitcroft has worked with Hussey before, as he signed him on loan while at Bury in 2014.
