Swindon Town poised to tie up deal for Lawrence Vigouroux

Swindon Town are on the brink of completing the permanent transfer of Liverpool goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux, reports state.

The Chilean stopper kept guard between the sticks at the County Ground for the entirety of the 2015/16 campaign, after completing a loan move from Premier League side Liverpool.

Swindon attempted to secure the services of the goalkeeper during the January transfer window, though were rebuffed in their attempts as parent club Liverpool were in the process of reviewing their personnel sent out on loan from the club.

The Robins now appear to be close to securing their man however, after striking a deal believed to be in the region of £400,000 according to local reports.

The fee looks to represents chairman Lee Power's view that the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee has vast potential and subsequent strong resale value.

Swindon finished the 2015/16 season with something of a goalkeeping crisis on their hands, and had to rely upon the services of 17-year-old Will Henry, following injury to both Vigouroux and his understudy Tyrell Belford.

A permanent move for Vigouroux would see the Robins again acquire goalkeeping talent from Liverpool, after Town took Tyrell Belford from the red half of Merseyside back in 2013.
