SWINDON TOWN SUBMIT PROPOSAL FOR NEW HQ AND TRAINING CENTRE

SWINDON TOWN has formally submitted planning action for their proposed new training centre and headquarters complex it can be revealed.

Located in Highworth on the former Twelve Oaks Golf Club the new complex covers approximately 24,460 square feet. 

A purpose built training centre, gymnasium, and headquarter offices are all included in the clubs plans whilst a players restaurant and catering facility will be built utilising the former main golf club building. 

The club will make use of the existing land by converting the majority of the former golf course into eight grass training pitches and a full size all-weather 4G-floodlit pitch.

The new 4G all-weather pitch will also benefit the local community, as public use throughout the year will be encouraged. 

The submitted price is yet to be revealed, however, the majority of funding is expected to be formed between a combination of grant funding and direct funding by Swindon Town FC. 

Swindon Borough Council will now scrutinise and consult on the application over the coming months with a decision expected in the New Year.
