Swindon Town to kick off season with away match against Carlisle

Swindon Town will go up against Carlisle in their first match of the 2017-18 League Two season, it has been revealed today.

Swindon are in League Two for the first time in six years, following last year's relegation and, under new boss David Flitcroft, they will be aiming to return to the third tier at the first attempt.

After the trip to Brunton Park on August 5, Swindon will travel to Norwich in the League Cup before their first home game of the season against Exeter and then Morecambe away.

Town will face Luton at home on Boxing Day, Barnet away on New Year's Day and then they will finish the season with a home match against Accrington.

Flitcroft's men do not have a derby against any of the Bristol clubs, Reading or Oxford this season but they will meet Forest Green (home on Jan 13 and away on September 23) as well as Cheltenham (home on March 10 and away on October 7).
