Swindon Town want another striker and defender

Both chairman Lee Power and manager Luke Williams have confirmed that Swindon Town are trying to sign two new players - with a centre back and a striker on the shopping list.

Swindon have already brought eight new faces to the County Ground over the summer and currently boast a 24-man squad but Power and Williams believe more can benefit the Robins.

After Nathan Delfouneso's aquisition on Thursday, Town now have four recognised strikers while Northern Irishman Jordan Stewart can also be depolyed there, but Williams insists no-one is set to leave the club.

"I don't think anyone will leave the club," he told Total Sport.

"We are probably looking for one more (striker) then, potentially, we will assess how likely everybody is to be involved. Maybe we will take a look at that later on and maybe get them a loan (away) to play games."

Williams refused to be drawn on what players, if any, will depart the club and whether any potential exit would be out on loan or a permanent deal.

Chairman Lee Power outlined pre-match that the club have had difficulties in recruitment but remain confident of a good campaign.

"We have been trying to get people in for the last month but I think, like any other club in the league, the big clubs are keeping hold of their players and taking ages releasing them.

"There are two positions we are after. If we can find another defender and another forward but only the right ones. We have probably got enough in the building now but there's two that we are looking at."

Power went on to add the two additions are likely to be loans.
