Swindon Wildcats bids farewell to Adam Harding

Swindon Wildcats have today said their farewells to Cardiff-born youngster Adam Harding, who has swapped the Wiltshire based club for Elite League side Manchester Storm.

Harding, who has spent the last three seasons honing his craft in SN5, will now move up North to test his abilities in the UK's professional ice hockey league.

The 23-year old, who joined the club in a two-way deal from the Cardiff Devils during the 2013-14 campaign, picked up the club's 'Most Improved Player Award' the following year and will be looking to emulate the successful loan spell he had with the Storm back in January, when he played two games and scored one goal under player-coach Omar Pacha.

Head coach Aaron Nell has expressed his best wishes to the departing forward, and has left the door open for the Welshman to return to Wiltshire should he wish.

Nell told the club's official website: "I'd like to thank Hards for his time in Swindon. It's great he's getting an opportunity in the Elite League," he said.

"Hards leaves with our best wishes and the door is always open for a return to Swindon in the future."

Having played 155 games during his spell with the Wildcats, Harding scored 35 times and recorded 59 assists for 94 points and the Welshman will be looking to make the step up to British Ice Hockey's top flight with ease.

“There’s never been a more difficult time to get in to the Elite League, what with the number of imports allowed rising each season, so I’m really excited about the new challenge," Harding told the club's website.

I want to wish the Swindon Wildcats all the best for next season and I really hope that you get your hands on a piece of silverware – it’s what the club deserves and I’ll be looking out for the results," he added.
