Swindon Wildcats match with Manchester Phoenix not under threat of cancellation
As the Manchester Phoenix struggle with financial difficulties, the Swindon Wildcats have released a statement letting fans know the situation regarding the meeting between the two this weekend.
Swindon and Manchester are set to face off at the Link Centre on Saturday and the club have assured fans that, at the moment, the game is set to go ahead as planned but any change and fans will be keep in-the-loop.
In a statement the Wildcats said:
"Due to uncertainty around the Manchester Phoenix, the Swindon Wildcats would like to provide an update regarding the game on Saturday 21st January.
"As of this moment, the game will be going ahead as planned. Wildcats GM Steve Nell has been in contact with Manchester Phoenix Head Coach Tony Hand, Tony is looking for new investors to help take the Phoenix through the remainder of the 2016-2017 EPL season.
"This would then allow the Phoenix to complete their remaining fixtures for the rest of the season.
"If there is any reason that the game will be called off all fans will be notified immediately through the Swindon Wildcats social media channels.
"In the event of this happening, anyone with tickets will be able to contact the club for a full refund, or exchange your ticket for another game this season.
