Swindon Wildcats release forward Corey McEwen

Swindon Wildcats have this week officially confirmed the departure of Corey McEwen, after the forward was not offered a new deal in Wiltshire.

The Wildcats have taken the decision to part ways with forward Corey McEwen ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, as head coach Aaron Nell looks to reshape his roster for his first complete season in the hot seat.

McEwen joined the Cats last summer and put up six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 52 games for the club.

Speaking about the decision to allow the centre to move onto pastures new, Wildcats player/coach Aaron Nell said: "I'd like to thank Corey for his time in Swindon this season and wish him well in the future."

"Everyone at the Wildcats would like to thank Corey for his services to the club last season and we wish him the very best of luck in the future."

Wildcats' fans will best remember McEwen for his goalscoring start to life in Wiltshire, after finding the back of the net immediately after putting pen to paper on a deal last summer and earning Man of The Match for his first appearance in the red and white of Swindon.
