Swindon Town set for massive summer shake-up with 11 players set to be released

Swindon Town have confirmed 11 players will be leaving the club this summer after announcing their retained list following the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The list includes the release of club captain Charlie Austin, who had previously admitted he did not know where his future would lie, following the end of the season.

Tomi Adeloye, Frazer Blake-Tracy, Conor Brann, Tom Brewitt, Tom Clayton, Reece Devine, Brooklyn Genesini, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, George McEachran and Tyrese Shade have also been announced as being released following the expiration of their contracts.

Playmaker Sean McGurk and midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh have been offered new deals to remain at the County Ground, while options have been taken to extend the contracts of Jack Bycroft, Paul Glatzel, Udoka Godwin-Malife, Saidou Khan and Williams Kokolo.

Dawson Devoy, Zach Elbouzedi, Harry McKirdy and Conor McCarthy have returned to their parent clubs following their loan deals.

Ricky Aguiar, Jake Cain, Aaron Drinan, Anton Dworzak, Pharrell Johnson, Harrison Minturn and Tariq Uwakwe remain under contract at the club for next season.

A statement following the list from the club read: “We would like to thank all the first-team players who will be leaving us upon the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, and we wish them all the very best in their future careers too.”

Swindon ended the 2023/24 campaign 19th in the League Two table.

Gavin Gunning has been the club’s interim head coach following the sacking of Michael Flynn in January.
