Glatzel strikes twice as Swindon Town get pre-season schedule off to winning start
Paul Glatzel struck twice as Swindon Town got their pre-season campaign off to a winning start with a 4-1 triumph at Swindon Supermarine.
Trailing 1-0 to Harry Williams’s strike at the interval, Town changed their entire starting XI, as well as fielding a handful of trialists throughout the 90 minutes.
They responded after the break through Jake Cain’s leveller, before Glatzel got his first of the afternoon on 63 minutes.
Jaxon Brown then marked signing his first professional contract with a goal just three minutes later, before Glatzel added a second six minutes from time.
The Robins were without head coach Mark Kennedy at Suprmarine due to a family member being ill, meaning assistant Marcus Bignot led the side.

He said: “It was an opportunity for the players to get much-valued minutes and also to come off the pitch with no injuries is great, so we are delighted with the first 45 minutes for the players.
"It is still quite unfamiliar as we have only had four days of training before going into the game, so we are really pleased with the performance and the result. It has been a successful day for us all around."
Town’s next pre-season test comes at non-league Hungerford on Tuesday (7pm).
